The World That Never Was
The World That Never Was by The Secret History is released today on Le Grand Magistery. According to Allmusic.com, the LP "not only lives up to My Favorite's legacy, but surpasses it... not since the first two New Pornographers records have the songs, vocals, and production come together so perfectly. On The World That Never Was, they've crafted one of the best, most lyrical, and emotionally powerful pop albums of the past however long."
The Secret History
The Secret History is the new project by Michael Grace, Jr. and ex-members of My Favorite. Their debut EP, Desolation Town, is now available on Le Grand Magistery.
Another Gay Movie
Sorely missed, My Favorite will have 2 songs featured in the campy new film, "Another Gay Movie" released on July 28th.
Listen closely to hear "The Happiest Days of My Life" and "Homeless Club Kids (Phofo Remix)".

Absolute Beginners... Again
So... I decided to start an on-line diary, to mind the gap between what has been and what is to come. Somehow posting communiques on this site felt a little bit like tattooing a corpse, all be it, as they say, an exquisite one.
I also felt that this format might allow me to write more often, with less self-inflicted pressure to locate a grand theme or occurrence. So until the 'Secret History' site goes up, this diary or blog (as they call it in the biz), will be where you can find my non-fiction accounts of a fictional life. Or is it my fictional accounts of a non-fiction life? Oh let's just say it's where I will be writing about my world, real and imagined. It's probably a bad idea.
Oh, and hopefully I'll be able to include a lot of my random photography into the mix. Jeez aren't you lucky?

Friends & Countrymen....
I'm spinning at 10 & 12 this Saturday Night for the relaunch of the fantastic Mondo party. This is a big deal to my close friends who are behind it, and thus it is important to me too...
It's free, you will hear the best music you have heard out in a long, long time...and there are two floors....a pulse-y dancy lower level, and a lean on the bar hang out upper level...where you will find me spinning everything from The New York Dolls to The Pastels to Maximo Park...and much more.
I suggest you go see either "You me & everyone we know" or "2046" downtown...and then come over and say hi and have a drink with me...that is when I'm not fumbling around with my headphones on...
Much love, Michael Grace
